Andrew grew up in Venango, PA. As a young child, Andrew was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, a mild form of autism. Andrew has refused to be restricted by his diagnosis. His passionate interest in the environment and nature started when he was a child. He works diligently to share that passion with others.
Andrew was named an Outstanding Student of Northwestern Pennsylvania in 2010 by The Family & Community Christian Association. He was also interviewed about Serenity Gardens in 2010 by Tim Hahn, Erie Times-News. He went on to study music at Allegheny College and graduated in 2015. Since then, Andrew has been teaching earth education curriculum at McKeever Environmental Learning Center in Sandy Lake, PA.
When not working at McKeever and Serenity Gardens Andrew teaches classical piano. He has also catalogued over 450 U.S. wildflowers, which can be viewed online here.
